The Kama Sutra Size Chart

According to the Kama Sutra, men can be classified on the basis of the size of their penis, or lingamas it is called in Sanskrit. A person with a small penis is described as a hare-man, one with an average-sized penis is described as a bull-man, and one with an abnormally large penis is described as a horse-man. Similarly, females can be classified according to the size of their yoni, or vagina. A woman with an unusually small yoni is called a deer, one with an average-sized yoniis a mare and one with an unusually large yoni is an elephant. The Kama Sutra identifies nine types of sexual union, based on each of the three lingam types copulating with each of the three yoni types.

Tantric Art

The Tantric tradition of India and Tibet is much broader in its scope than the subset of Tantric Sexuality taught in the West. While Western Tantra focuses on practical techniques, the Eastern form also uses sexual symbolism for purely meditational purposes. As such, Tantric art often contains imagery that can seem bizarre to Western eyes. This Tibetan-style devotional painting, for example, depicts an animal-headed female deity trampling on two small figures while she menstruates into a bowl they are holding. At the same time, she is balancing the Hindu elephant God Ganesha on her hands and performing fellatio on him – in other words, sucking his penis!

Zen Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of massage therapy that originated in the Zen Buddhist monasteries of medieval Japan. The Japanese word Shiatsu literally means “finger-pressure”. The practitioner uses the fingers of the right hand to apply pressure to sensitive acu-points on the body of the recipient. The practitioner’s left hand rests on the recipient’standen, or primary energy center. The purpose is to draw energy from the tanden and re-route it to the acu-point being worked on.

The original purpose of Shiatsu in Zen Buddhism was to bring mind, body and spirit into balance. There was no explicit sexual element to it. However, when Shiatsu became a popular therapy in the second half of the 20th century, it was discovered that many recipients – females in particular – were able to achieve massive whole-body orgasms from finger-pressure alone. Many modern-day practitioners work on internal acu-points as well as the traditional external ones in order to heighten the orgasmic effect. In the photograph above, the fingers of the practitioner’s right hand are working on acu-points inside the recipient’s vagina and anus, while the left hand is drawing energy from the tanden.

Lajja Gauri

The image on the left is a 7th century sandstone sculpture of the Hindu Goddess Lajja Gauri. This is striking for its depiction of the Goddess as naked, with her legs spread, and with a prominently visible vulva (oryoni in Sanskrit). Lajja Gauri is one of the principle deities of Shaktism (Hindu Goddess Worship), and is also known by the names of Aditi or Devi. She can be compared with the Celtic Goddess Sheela-na-gig, who is also commonly depicted with legs spread and a prominent vulva.

The Great Goddess Kunda

Thousands of years ago the supreme deity was not a God but a Goddess. Referred to by slightly different names in different cultures, she was known as Kundaor Kunti in Asia, and Cunina orCunnus in Europe. She was generally depicted with capaciously large, sexually aroused genitals—and so by association the vagina became known by the same name. This survives to the present day in the English word “cunt”. Many New Agers believe the word was deliberately made into a “curse word” by the Powers That Be in order to toxify the memory of the Great Goddess.
